Week 32, April 19, 2013

We had our class on Saturday. It was long but I have to say it was very interesting. I learned about what to expect in the delivery room while Andy learned how to swaddle and change a diaper. I wanted to take a picture but he wouldnt let me. He did a really good job too! I had never seen the birthing video and it was a little bit scary. I'm just glad that part is over. Then I had my appointment on Tuesday. They said I am measuring small and will need to do another ultrasound in 2 weeks. Darn. :) I'm so excited to get to see how big she is and how she is laying in there. She is moving all the time so i'm curious what end is where. Andy will be going to that one with me for sure.
Then on Wednesday, I got an awesome surprise at work! I was called down to our conference room and when I walked in, I was shocked when everyone yelled Surprise! They had put together an awesome surprise shower for me. It was so great. It was decorated so neat with little onsies hanging across the ceiling and little baskets on the tables full of baby stuff. My office mate even made basket liners that matches my nursery. I felt so loved and am thankful to have such great coworkers.

Andy and I are almost done with the nursery too. I will have pictures revealing it very soon. We put up her name decal (huge pain in the butt, especially with textured walls) and hung our curtains. Everything is coming together so well and so quickly.

On a different note, we found out we are getting a niece on May 8th! We are so excited and can't wait to meet her. Bailey will have someone so close in age which will be lots of fun.

The cake was amazing!

This blanket was homemade. I can't wait to wrap little Bailey in it.

I know i'm going to need the diapers from the diaper cake but I dont want to take it apart.

My overwhelming gifts from my generous coworkers

One of the many toys that Andy registered for. He said he liked registering for Bailey more than he did for our wedding becuase it was fun to imagine what toys she would want to play with. :)

I loved the littel onsies hanging from the ceiling.

Week 30-April 5, 2013

These weeks have been flying by. I can't believe I only have 10 weeks left. I'm so excited to meet her but at the same time, there are so many things to get done both at home and work. She can take her time growing in there for now. This week we picked up Bailey's crib. It was so exciting knowing that her room is coming together so quickly. It was just a matter of decding on her room colors. I have been able to order some really great things on Etsy. I will post before and after pictures of her room as soon as its complete. My next big tasks will be sewing her crib skirt, finding curtains and making her rain gutter bookshelves. If you havent seen them, google it. They are really cool. I broke down and bought her a beautiful little yellow sun dress. I'm trying so hard to be good and not buy clothes just yet because I know there will be so many other things that we will need to buy later. I need to find a money tree!

Baby Size:  Cucumber (not sure how they decide that. I think a cucumber is smaller than last week and I'm sure as heck not smaller!)
Average size: 15.2 -16.7 inches, 2.5-3.8 lb.
Baby’s strong enough to grasp a finger now.
Total Weight gain/loss: 22 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Again as much as possible. It will be so nice to fit in my old clothes again.

Stretch Marks:  None

Sleep: Still not great. It doesnt help that my husband wants to skydive. I'm a little nervous about it and keep waking up thinking about it.

Best moment this week: We picked up our crib this week! I'm so excited to see it all set up. Also, we were able to get tickets for the soccer game at Busch Stadium in May. All I have to say is that Bailey had better hold out until the game is over :)

Miss anything: Not really anything.

Food cravings: Cereal, chocolate and fruit.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing

Have you started to show yet: Just a little :)

Week 28-March 22, 2013

This week has been really good. We have been making progress on cleaning out closets and just getting ready for Bailey. We finally chose a paint color for her room and finalized our registry. That was really difficult! There is so much stuff out there its overwhelming. I have really enjoyed being pregnant so far minus the first weeks when I was really sick. Its going so fast! Its making me somewhat sad actually. I'm really excited to meet my baby girl but its just a crazy how fast it happens.

Baby Size:  Eggplant
Average size: 13.6 -14.8 inches, 1.5-2.2 lb.
Immune system is preparing for the outside world...
Total Weight gain/loss:  Ok so I went to the Docs on Tues...drum roll.....20lbs! She said I had a growth spurt. haha oh well. I feel good and she said Bailey is very healthy!

Maternity clothes: As much as possible or yoga pants and long tanks

Stretch Marks:  None-Still believing in the cocoa butter(by the way, I didnt get the palmers stomach butter. I stuck with the walmart brand and have been very happy)

Sleep: Still the same. Not sleeping great. I use my body pillow but am looking forward to sleeping on my stomach again. I get another massage next week that i'm looking forward to!

Best moment this week: It was really nice to finally buy our paint! We chose a light gray for 3 walls and a deep pink on the wall behind her crib. I can't wait to put it on the wall. Ok Andy will do the painting.

Miss anything: Not really anything.
Food cravings: The usual. Plus cherry slurpees. Which reminds me...I had my glucose test last Friday and the night before at about 8:30, I downed a wonderful cherry slurpee. I didnt think about my test the next day which you are supposed to fast for. Oh by the way did I mention that it is testing how your body handles sugar? My doc said I was borderline but not high enough to be concerned. I'm wondering if my cherry slurpee didnt have something to do with that. Also, I dont know what everyone is complaining about when it comes to drinking the stuff for that test. I thought it was delicious. Go for the orange flavor!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing anymore. I still smell everything though.

Have you started to show yet: Yes I am showing big time. Even my work out t-shirts are snug

Movement: Tons of movement! I love it. It seems to be pretty consistent times of the day too. Although she has been waking me up around 3 or so. Hope thats not a sign of her normal schedule.

 Gender: Girl!! Bailey Isabel Riva
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out:  In
Wedding rings on or off:  On

Mood: Great! Ok depends on who you talk to. I have felt great but I do get emotional over the dumbest things. Like a commercial that isnt even sad for example.

Looking forward to: Painting Bailey's room! I will be so happy when it finally comes together. Andy and I have our pizza date night this weekend as well. I know it wont be long before we wont be able to just up and go without making a major trip out of it.

Due Date:  June 12th, 2013

Week-26-March 8, 2013

Baby Size: Head of Lettuce
Average size: 13.6-14.8 inches, 1.5-2.2 lb.
Eyes are forming and will soon start to open
Total Weight gain/loss:  17lbs I think San Diego really did me in!
Maternity clothes: I had to buy longer tanks and cardigans to get me by. Maternity clothes are too expensive. I'm going to have to break down and buy a pair of work pants unfortunately.
Stretch Marks:  Still no stretch marks! The line on my stomach is the same. Not real dark but I can see it. It’s so strange how things happen.
Sleep: I'm starting to wake up much more often than I did before. I don’t feel like I’m ever completely asleep. Also, they say you have very strange dreams when you’re pregnant and it’s so true. For some weird reason I dreamed that Andy was tickling me. No clue. But in my dream it tickled so much that I was laughing hysterically out loud! I woke up in the middle of my laughing fit and laughed even harder because of how weird and funny it was. Poor Andy didn’t seem to find it very funny at 3 am but it didn’t stop me regardless :)
Best moment this week: So I’m not so sure I would classify this as the best moment but it was pretty funny. I was cleaning up the kitchen and sneezed (don’t worry mom I covered my mouth) and totally wet my pants! So much that I had to change. Its not like I was holding it for awhile or anything but sure enough I still managed to pee myself. Thank goodness I was at home or else it wouldn’t have been so funny.

Miss anything: Nope not too much.
Food cravings: Just the same, I really like chocolate, fruit and cereal
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing anymore
Have you started to show yet: Yes completely!

 Gender: Girl!! Bailey Isabel Riva
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out:  In-I'm not so sure it’s going to pop out at this point.
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Mood: My mood has been really good.  I'm feeling so much less stressed out about everything. I'm just anxious about how fast time is approaching.
Looking forward to: Picking out paint for her room. We have been so back and forth but I’m pretty sure I know what to pick.
Due Date:  June 12th, 2013

Week 25-March 1st-Babymoon in San Diego!

We left for our Babymoon to San Diego on Wednesday after work. It was so nice to get away for a few days. The first 2 nights we stayed in Little Italy which was a perfect location to access everything down town while the last 3 we were closer to the beaches. The first morning we were there, we used the trolley to run around the downtown area. We stopped off at the Gaslamp Village, and then headed to Seaport for lunch. It was so nice out we walked around and just enjoyed being away. We were able to tour the USS Midway, which I highly suggest. The next day we rented a convertible and headed over to Coronado Island to visit the Del Coronado and the beaches. Later that afternoon we drove to Point Loma to see the sunset from Sunset Cliffs! We also took a dolphin/whale cruise and saw so many gorgeous dolphins and 1 whale. It was really neat to see. We visited a few other beaches but our favorite day was definitely the last day we were there. We started the day with hiking in Torrey Pines State Park, which offered amazing views of the shoreline, cliffs and beaches. Then we ate lunch at the Cliff Glider Cafe. Here you could watch people take off with their parachutes while eating a yummy sandwich. After that (and a cherry slurpee later) we headed to La Jolla Cove. We walked around the shoreline and cliffs taking pictures. It was so beautiful. Over at the cove, the mama seals were laying out all over the place with their new born babies. There was a baby that was born just an hour before we got there. It was pretty amazing. Overall it was a really fun getaway. I would recomend San Diego to anyone. There is so much to do there and the weather is always really good.

This was the last day of the trip. I think my stomach is bigger just in the few days. Not so sure thats all Bailey's fault :)

Baby Size:  Cauliflower
Total Weight gain/loss:  14lbs
Maternity clothes: I officially need to buy some new shirts! I tried everything on the week before and then packed it all up for the trip. It seemed like within that 1 week my clothes didn't fit anymore!
Stretch Marks:  None yet but I have noticed the dark line starting on my belly. I just hope it goes away later.
Sleep: Ok so my lower back has been killing me recently. Its terrible. I can't ever get comfortable.
Best moment this week: This would have to be sitting on a blanket looking over La Jolla Cove with Andy. There was a beautiful sunset and it was so nice. It was weird to think about how this would be our last trip without kids.
Miss anything: Not really anything. Although I would have liked to have a glass of wine on our trip
Food cravings: I know that chocolate has tasted better to me than ever before. I just have to say, I had the best Rocky Road Waffle cone in Mission beach. It was amazing. Between that and cherry slurpees, i'm in heaven!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing anymore
Have you started to show yet: Yes I am showing big time. It was really fun in San Diego, because I had so many people wishing us luck on the baby.
Movement: She is constantly moving. It seems like every time Andy puts his hand on my belly she stops. Its sort of funny.
 Gender: Girl!! Bailey Isabel Riva
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out:  In for now
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Mood: My mood this week was really good. How could it not be? We were in Cali with 80 degree weather and a convertible! :)
Looking forward to: Finalizing the baby room. Mostly so I can stop obsessing over it.
