Bailey's Room Reveal

We are finally completely finished with Bailey's room. It took us forever to decide on the colors and actually come to an agreement. I have to say, I'm very happy with how it turned out. I never thought I would do this much pink but I really love it! I think that the gray off sets it and tones it down some. Although I pretty much picked out the color schemes and put the patterns and material together, Andy did a TON of work in there. He did all of the painting (regardless of being pregnant, I hate to paint!), crown molding, hanging pictures and even created our gutter bookshelves. I really think that she is going to have the best room in the house.

I got a lot of items on Etsy and ideas for my sewing projects from various blogs. I will include the links at the bottom of the page.

Before pictures.....

As you can see we had various colors picked out. It was exhausting.

Coby has been so confused during the entire process.

Andy starting to paint...

First picture of the room painted.

Andy putting the crib together.

After lots of trips to JoAnn's Fabric and shopping on Etsy here is Miss Bailey's room!!!

The name decal is from Etsy. If you have textured walls like we do, it's a real pain to put on but we made it work. The little butterfly at the end of her name is just card stock that I cut out. I used sticky tack to adhere it to the wall and bent the wings a bit.

The Butterfly mobile was the first thing I wanted for her room. I ordered it on Etsy.

I made her changing pad cover and its super easy. Its much cheaper than buying one in the store and you can pick whatever colors and patterns you want!

Here is the main wall. This is the pink we went back and forth on forever. The crib is from Babie's R Us.

I ordered the bumper and crib sheet online but made the crib skirt. Its very basic but I made it so that you can adjust it when you lower the bed when she gets older. I couldnt find a set that I really loved and this cost less than half the price of any crib set. My co-worker made the cute blanket that is hanging on the crib.

The 3 pictures above her wall was inspiration from a Pottery Barn add. I'm going to put a maternity photo on the left side and a new born picture of Bailey on the right side.

Again here are the 3-D wall butterflies. You can order these on Etsy but its just as easy and much cheaper to make them youself. You could use all sorts of different colored card stock.

Here is a blanket that I made using a great tutorial on a blog that I found. It was so easy I couldn't believe it. I wanted a quilt but didnt want to pay the price for one! This cost about $15 to make.

A perfect find at Hobby Lobby.

I found this rug on Overstock.com. I looked for awhile before I finally decided on this one.

So the chair was a bit of a splurge. It rocks and swivels and its just the most comfortable chair ever! I figured I would be sitting in this a lot so it's worth it :) I bought the green pillow at TJ Maxx and made the chevron pillow using a quick youtube video on making an envelope pillow case. This way I can wash it if Bailey throws up on it or something. Also, instead of buying the matching ottoman that cost as much as the chair does, I bought a cheap black ottoman at Target. I just made a quick slip cover using material that matched as close as possible.

I just took a plain lamp and glued a ribbon and a flower to it.

Here are the gutter bookshelves that Andy put together. I saw this on pintrest and knew I had to have them. They were about $25 to put together. Andy cut them and puttied the corners, sanded them and then painted them. He gets all the credit for these awesome shelves!

Here is a side view of the shelves. You can really see how deep the pockets are. You can use brackets to mount them to the walls but we just drilled them right on there instead.

I found these canvas's at Ashley Furniture for $5 each but didnt like the canvas. I just hot glued my favorite scrap book paper to the front.

I had to get a shot of her closet. I'm in big trouble!

 A few of my favs...

This picture is actually from our ultra sound when we found out we were having a girl. I just forgot to upload it. Her hand is up by her head which means she is already being dramatic.

So that's pretty much it! Here are the links to some of the blogs and tutorials that I used:

Week 37-May 24, 2013

I can't believe it but I'm officially full term as of Wednesday! I feel like the whole pregnancy has gone so fast but it really has been great. I'm so excited for Bailey to get here but I could honestly use a few more weeks. Her room is all done and I have to say i'm very proud of how it turned out. I will post the room photos in the next post. Andy is so sweet and decided to buy this adorable chain for her fan. Its Noah's Ark with little animals hanging out of the windows. Its funny what he thinks of doing but it means so much that he cares like he does.

I had my weekly appointment on Tuesday and they said I'm still measuring small so they want to do a follow up ultra sound next Tuesday just to be sure she is growing appropriately. I just hope and pray that she is healthy and strong. It does worry me a little bit. I havent dilated any further either.

Sunday we got to meet our new little niece, Emmy. She is so cute and sweet. She didnt cry at all when she was over. I'm hoping maybe Bailey will take after her in that regards but knowing what a handful both Andy and I were, I'm not so sure I will be that lucky :)

We went to the Chelsea/Manchester game last night which was AMAZING! I was so happy that Bailey didn't come early so that I could go to the game. I know that's selfish but so worth it. Now I am getting ready to pamper myself today with a mani/pedi and a 90 min massage (thanks groupon!)
Ok I'm deffinitely looking huge at this point. Oh lord......

Fun at the soccer game. I miss playing so bad. Hopefully I can get back in shape and play indoor in this winter.

Baby Size:  Winter melon (not sure what that is??)
Average size: 18.9-20.9 inches, 6.2-9.2 lb. (please be on the smaller side of this range!)Baby’s inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking.

Total Weight gain/loss: 32 lbs
Maternity clothes: I'm wearing whatever I can get away with until she gets here. Still love the yoga pants. I went looking for maternity shorts at Old Navy and I really want to know who thought it was a good idea to sell shorts with a 2 inch inseam. I dont care if there is a stretchy band around the waist or not. Come on!!

Stretch Marks: None as of yet! :) I think I may have seen a few but I can't tell just yet.

Sleep: Still not great. My back is killing me again as well.

Best moment this week: The soccer game really was awesome. Andy and I had fun just hanging out letting the stress go for a night. It sort of felt like we were dating again! haha

Miss anything: We met up with my brother in law last night after the soccer game. Him and all of his friends were going out for the night and it was already 10:45! I know it will be awhile but I have to say it will be really fun to get dressed up and go out one night after she is here. I'm starting to feel so old and I know that we really aren't that old yet. Oh yeah, it doesnt help that I have been finding gray hairs!! Its really starting to freak me out.

Food cravings: Anything Sweet still. Also thanks to my co-worker, I have been eating lots of Nutella. I dont care what the commercials say, that stuff can't be good for you.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just spicy stuff.

Have you started to show yet: Yes and i'm just getting bigger!
Movement: I swear she is kicking my ribs on purpose!

Gender: Girl!! Bailey Isabel Riva

Labor Signs: I have just been feeling really off lately.....

Belly Button in or out: Still half in and half out.
Wedding rings on or off: Still off.

Mood: I wasnt feeling very good this week. I was really worried this was going to be the week but ended up taking a day off work to rest and it made all the difference.

Looking forward to: I am getting so excited to finally meet my little Bailey girl. I can't wait to sit in my chair and rock her and read to her. Also looking forward to seeing Andy with her :) Ok besides the sappy stuff, I'm looking forward to my day of pampering!!!!

Due Date: June 12th, 2013

Week 36-May 17, 2013

This week was one of the busiest weeks ever! We had my brother's graduation (go Matty!) and then Mother's day on Sunday which was really nice. Then Monday we took our maternity photo's and Tuesday I had my doctors appointment and had dinner with our Grandpa. Then the rest of the week we were getting ready to have our garage sale, Andy's diaper party and family over on Sunday. It will be so nice to just relax and slow down a bit. I was actually getting worried that we were doing too much and I was having more contractions than usual in the evenings. Anyways, it was a great week, just busy. My appointment went really well too. She had hiccups during the appointment. :) Her heart rate is strong and the doctor says she is still head down. I'm dilated to a 1....woo hoo!!

Baby Size:  Honeydew
Average size: 17.2-18.7 inches, 4.2-5.8 lb.Hearing is fully developed…
Total Weight gain/loss: 30 lbs
Maternity clothes: Still maternity jeans and a few shirts. I had been trying to wear larger sized clothes for the most part but i'm at the point that nothing fits again. I only have 4 weeks left so I dont really want to go out and buy anything new. I will be great to be able to wear my old shirts again!

Stretch Marks: None as of yet! :) I think I may have seen a few but I can't tell just yet.
Sleep: Not great.  I am constantly waking up. When it's time to get up for work I feel like I havent ever been to sleep. I think I wake up every morning between 3:30-4. Its terrible.

Best moment this week: It was really fun doing our Maternity photos. We were able to get some really good pics even though I'm 9 months pregnant. There were definitely a few that arent quite so great so I would suggest getting pictures done no later than 7-8 months if you can help it. Besides not feeling so hot my 9 months, its very hard to move around. We were trying to sit on the ground and then get up and move. It was just difficult. But our photographer is awesome!

Miss anything: Ok how about being able to get up out of bed without having to roll, or even bend over easily to tie my shoes! I do miss that. I'm looking forward to just being able to move around with ease again especially without having to make a ridiculous grunting noise. Andy thinks i'm exaggerating but I really can't help it!

Food cravings: Anything Sweet still. I got the Yonanas for my birthday and am really loving strawberries and mango in it.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just spicy stuff.
Have you started to show yet: Yes and i'm just getting bigger!

Movement: Lots. I'm not sure but she was head down but it feels like she may have flipped. I will find out at the next appointment.

Gender: Girl!! Bailey Isabel Riva

Labor Signs: I have been having a lot of contractions lately. Mostly at night though.
Belly Button in or out:  Still half in and half out.

Wedding rings on or off: Still off. I really wanted to wear it for our maternity pictures but there was no way I was getting it on. I wore it on my pinky finger for a few of the pictures.

Mood: I'm feeling good but really tired all the time. We have so much going on its just crazy.

Looking forward to: Being done with our garage sale so we can get the rest of the junk out of our house! I'm also looking forward to meeting my new niece!!

Week 35- May 10, 2013

Saturday was my baby shower at my sister in-laws that her, my mother in-law and my friend Jenna threw for me. It was really amazing! The decorations, food and desserts were delish and the games were really fun. I felt so blessed by everyone and know that we are very lucky to have friends and family that love us the way they do!

My family came over on Sunday to celebrate my 28th birthday! Its so crazy to think how fast time has gone. It was really nice to just hang out with family. The rest of the week was nice. I'm just starting to get nervous about going into labor. I havent had many contractions yet but I do feel like she may be a little bit lower now. I feel her hiccups coming from very low :) I'm so excited to meet her!!

Baby Size: Coconut
Average size: 17.2-18.7 inches, 4.2-5.8 lb.

Total Weight gain/loss: 28 lbs
Maternity clothes: As much as I can. I dont really want to buy anything else at this point but it's getting very hard to find things to wear.
Stretch Marks: None as of yet! :)
Sleep: I have been getting up to go to the bathroom a ton! I had to go so bad that when I tried to sit up I couldnt becuase it hurt so bad. Bailey is sitting right on my bladder so Andy literally had to help roll me on my side so I could swing my legs off the bed. I 'm looking forward to when I can move easily again.

Best moment this week: Seeing my friends and family at my last baby shower. I'm a little bit sad that my first pregnancy is almost over. (we hope to have a few more :))

Miss anything: I really miss having energy. I will miss being pregnant becuase I have really enjoyed it but it will be nice to have energy. I realize it may be a long time before I have that again. I'm not looking forward to waking up every few hours to feed!
Food cravings: Anything Sweet!!! I really like chocolate peanut butter!

Anything making you queasy or sick: The only thing that I really can't take is anything spicy. I usually love spicy food but it doesnt even have to taste spicy to hurt my stomach. If I do eat something spicy, Bailey moves around like crazy so i'm guessing she doesnt like it either.

Have you started to show yet: Yes, big time. I do think my stomach is starting to drop.
Movement: All the time! She always kicking and punching my left side. I think her booty may be on my right because every now and then my stomach bulges up on that side. Its pretty funny looking.
Gender: Girl!! Bailey Isabel Riva

Labor Signs: I have had some Braxton hicks contractions lately.

Belly Button in or out:  Ok so its officially half in and half out.
Wedding rings on or off: Still off
Mood: I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed and anxious lately.

Looking forward to: My little brother is graduating next Saturday and I get to spend some time with the family for that. Also it will be my first unofficial Mother's Day which is pretty exciting. Then on Monday we are doing our maternity pics and Tues I go back to the doctors. I think I will have a exam and will find out if i'm dilating yet.

Week 34-May 3, 2013

On Tuesday, we got to see one final ultrasound. It was so great to see her moving around in there. She was sticking her tongue out and grabing her toes. It looks like she may have my nose and Andy's feet! Either she is going to be really tall or just have really big feet. Also it looks like she has lots of hair, which wouldnt surprise me. I had a head full when I was born. Right now she weighs 4 lbs 13 oz. and is in the head down position. Everything looked really good and she is very healthy. They kept my due date the same as well.

Food cravings: Anything Sweet!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really.

Belly Button in or out:  Flat but not poping out just yet.

Looking forward to: My birthday (tomorrow) and my final baby shower with my friends and in-laws.

Due Date:  June 12th, 2013

Week 33-April 26, 2013

Last Saturday was my family shower. My mom and sisters worked so hard to put it together and it was awesome! Everything was so perfect and I'm so appreciative for everyone who came out. It was at the Sweet Shop at the Blue Owl. We had chicken salad sandwiches, poppy seed salad, veggies and the best gooey butter cookies.

On Friday Andy and I met with the pediatritians office. We both really liked them and are excited that we have one more thing checked off our list. We are so excited to meet our little Bailey very soon.

Labor Signs: None yet. I have had a few of those braxton hicks contractions.
