Week 21-February 1, 2013

This week was really good. I went to Branson this weekend and found a few cute outfits for Bailey. I will post some pictures a little bit later of the outfits I have so far. It's been nice to be able to talk about the baby and not worry about accidentally telling people the gender. Now I have been trying to decide how to do the nursery. I can't wait to decide on the colors. We had another ultrasound today so that they could get more pictures of her heart. She was being difficult again and didn't want to let anyone see where they needed to. It was so great to see her little heart beating though. She was very squirmy. I think I'm going to have my hands full. Her profile picture looks like she may have my nose. It was really great because my mom got to go with us. The whole thing truly is amazing and a gift from God.

Baby Size:  Pomegranate
Total Weight gain/loss:  8lbs
Maternity clothes:  I wore my first pair of maternity jeans this week. They were so comfortable and really cute. I also picked up a Be-Band from Target. My work pants are just too tight and uncomfortable.
Stretch Marks:  None yet but my stomach is so itchy! I have been using cocoa butter 2-3x/day
Sleep: Still waking up a lot to use the bathroom. Very annoying.

Best moment this week: Finally really feeling Bailey move! Also coming home to hear all about the things he is reading in his baby book. Its really great to have him helping out and as excited as I am.
Miss anything: Mostly lunch meat
Food cravings: Ever since this weekend I can't get enough fruit. I ate 4 kiwi in 2 days along with a few grapefruit.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing anymore
Have you started to show yet: So I thought I was showing before but my stomach has officially "popped" there is no going back!
Movement: I have been feeling these little bubbles and honestly I wasn’t 100% sure if it was Bailey moving or not. Then just today I felt the bubble followed by a definite thump on my lower right side. I really think I saw my stomach move a little bit too. Now I recognize the feeling and she is moving a lot!
Gender: Girl!! Bailey Isabel Riva
Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out:  In but I am able to see right to the bottom.

Week 20-January 24, 2013-Introducing Bailey Isabel Riva

So this week has been a lot of fun. Last Saturday, we had both of our intermediate families over to reveal the gender of our baby. It was so much fun, I wish I could do it again. I decorated the house in all hot pink and bright blue. I got most of my ideas on pintrest of course. Everyone came over and as soon as we were done eating dinner, Andy and I gathered everyone in the living room for the big reveal. We decided it would be fun to play a game and have our families compete against each other to see who knew Andy and I better. We asked 10 random questions.
Here are just a few: How many hot wings has Andy eaten at one time? Who weighed more at birth, Andy or Katie? What was the first song Katie sang to Andy? What did Andy and Katie dress up as for their first Halloween?
Which ever family got the most correct got to open the envelope with the gender. Or so they thought...Team Riva won and when they opened the envelope it said "ask Coby". It was priceless because everyone was confused  but all started yelling for Coby. Andy went and let our puppy out of our bedroom. He came running out in a hot pink tutu and a hot pink t-shirt to represent the baby girl we are having. It was hillarious!

That same night our baby girls name became official. We had been going back and forth between a few girl names and decided we really liked the name Bailey. I had first heard the name Bailey when reading the Bailey Flannigan series by Karen Kingsbury. For anyone who hasnt read a book by her, go out pick one up. Any of them are good. The week before Andy and I practiced saying her name to see how it felt. We then had to think of a good middle name. That part was pretty hard. One day I was driving to work and the name Isabel just sort of popped into my head. It sounded perfect! I especially love what her name means. Bailey: Strong fortress around a city (so i'm going with strong), Isabel: God's promise. Also if you look up Bel in Italian it means beautiful. So now we are proud and excited to say we will be expecting our little Bailey Isabel this summer!

Coby was such a good sport. He didn't even mess with the bow in his hair

Me and my mom. She was dressed like a sports girl. She even gave herself a fake shiner :) Mom I promise I will do my best to have an athletic girl.

Me and my Dad! Yup, total Daddy's girl. He thought we were having a boy so he came dressed in full camo.
