Week 19-January 18, 2011

This week was such an amazing week! On Tuesday Andy and I went to the doctors office for an hour long ultrasound. We got to see our baby moving around, opening and closing its mouth and all kinds of cool stuff. The baby weighs 9 oz right now and while the tech was trying to take pics he/she kept putting it's hand up by his/her head and trying to move away. It was pretty funny. We got to see the compartments in the heart and brain, all of the finger and toes and even the bones in the legs. I think the baby's feet look like Andy's. We took 2 cupcakes to the doctors office, one filled with pink and one with blue. The tech only gave us back the cupcake that had the correct filling to represent the gender. Andy and I couldnt get back home fast enough! When we got home we took pictures of the cupcake and then said a little prayer over our sweet baby. Then...dug in at the same time. It was the craziest moment knowing for sure what our baby was going to be! Then we sat around and imagined what it was going to be like and possible names. I would highly suggest for everyone to find out the gender this way, if they are going to find out ahead of time.
Holding the cupcake box and super excited!
The very tasty cupcake.....

Here is Andy celebrating with some good Italian wine and great chocolate. He didnt' have drink both bottles just in case you were wondering :)

Week 17

Week 17! I'm definitely showing at this point. Not sure if that's good or bad but either way I feel pretty good.

Baby Size:  Onion
Total Weight gain/loss:  I'm pretty sure I've gained a solid 5lbs at this point, according to my scale anyways.
Maternity clothes:  Not yet, but I will say my skinny jeans are feeling pretty tight lately.
Stretch Marks:  None thanks goodness.
Sleep: I read that I'm not supposed to sleep on my back after week 16. I always thought I was a side or tummy sleeper but I keep waking up in a panic and finding that I sleep on my back much more than I thought. Not sure what to do but it's really causing me to mess up my sleep time with all this worrying.
Best moment this week: Definitely New Years Eve! We had our friends and family over for a "Minute to Win It" party. I would say the best part was watching everyone take turns at the bobble head game. HILARIOUS! Baby related, the best moment had to be when Andy put his head on my tummy to see if he could hear anything. haha of course he couldn’t but it was both funny and very sweet of him.
Miss anything: I wouldn’t mind a nice salted margarita.
Food cravings: For some reason I really really want a cupcake. I don’t ever want cake. Usually I'm a sweet tart person. I wonder if that means anything??
Anything making you queasy or sick: As of now, nothing has been making me feel sick anymore.
Have you started to show yet:  Yes, definitely!
Gender: Still not sure but Andy had a dream that we had a baby boy. It was so sweet when he told me. He said that in his dream everyone kept telling him how the little boy looked just like him :)
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out:  In
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Mood:  Great! I just signed up for a 4 mile race in Feb. I just hope I'm still motivated by that point.
Looking forward to: Besides baby stuff of course, I'm looking forward to the next weekend with Andy. He is turning 29 on the 12th and we are going to go out to celebrate on Friday. I have a date night planned but really need to think of a gift....
Due Date:  June 13th, 2013

Christmas Gifts for Baby Riva

So we havent really bought anything for the baby just yet besides a jogging stroller (pic at bottom). Our aweseome families gave us some nice things that I thought I would share. As you can see green and yellows are all we can get for now until we find out the gender. I know both Grandma's are dying to know so that they can actually shop!
Here is a cute little basket my sisters and mom put together along with Tommee Tippee bottles that my sister in-law gave us.
My Dad thinks its a boy and regardless he thought Andy could get some use out of this adorable fleece. Thanks Dad. :)

We actually got this on Black Friday but here is our jogging stroller. That's Coby behind it. He was sniffing it out. I had to bribe him with a treat to get a decent picture of him. He has no clue what he is in for when baby gets here.

Week 16

Week 16! I think I'm starting to look preggers! Yay! This week was such a great week. We got to spend a lot of time with family over Christmas this week. It was so strange thinking about how this will be our last Christmas just Andy, Coby and I. We are really excited to be able to start fun traditions like, Elf on the Shelf, cutting down our tree, and reading Christmas stories. Enough with being sentimental....

Baby Size:  Avacado
Total Weight gain/loss:  About 4-5 lbs
Maternity clothes:  Not yet. My jeans are still fitting pretty well for now...
Stretch Marks:  None thanks goodness
Sleep:  I have been sleeping great! Apparently I take up over half the bed. :)
Best moment this week:  Waking up Christmas morning with my hubby and sweet puppy. We turned on the fireplace and took turns opening gifts. I'm really excited for next year but I will really miss our time like it has been. We have spent 8 awesome Christmas's together!
Miss anything: Still just Jimmy Johns
Food cravings: I have been on a real pudding snack-pack kick. Chocolate and Vanilla. Yum!
Anything making you queasy or sick: As of now, nothing has been making me feel sick anymore.
Have you started to show yet:  Yes! I think so anyways. Especially after I eat.
Gender:  No clue....we find out on January 15th. :) We are planning a reveal with our family for that following Saturday. I will have to keep the secret for an entire week!
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out:  In
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Mood:  I have been feeling great. I have been working out and running.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender with Andy. We are going to cut a cupcake at home over a tasty pizza and some nice Italian wine. Ok Andy will enjoy the wine part. We thought about going out to dinner but I really just want to be at home where we can enjoy it and I can do a happy dance! haha

Week 15

So today we went to the doctors and finally got to hear our Babies heartbeat. I was dying to hear it because it had been so long since I had any confirmation that there is in fact a baby in my belly. It's amazing how it works but for some reason I was getting anxious and just needed to hear the sweet sound of the heart beating. It was so cool too. The doctor put the little instrument (not sure what its called) on my belly and there it was! It sounded like a very fast whooshing sound. I looked over at Andy and whether or not he will admit it, I thought he was going to cry. I did a little too. It was just the best moment. The doctor said the babies heartbeat was in the 150's. Also, they checked out the video and pictures from the first ultra sound and everything looked great and the baby looked very healthy.

How far along: 15weeks

Baby Size: Baby Riva is the Size of an apple

Total weight gain/loss: Just over 3 lbs according to the doctor.

Maternity clothes: Not yet

Stretch marks: Nope. Just using lots of cocoa butter every night

Sleep: Sleeping great. I'm ready for bed every night about 8:30 or 9:00.

Best moment this week: Hearing our babies heart beat! It was so amazing.

Miss Anything: I do miss being able to eat a sub sandwich from Jimmy Johns or Subway.

Movement: None yet

Food cravings: I'm loving yogurt, lots and lots of yogurt. Especially Cherry or Vanilla Yoplait.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Mostly just the smell of alchohol. Also, I used to love peanut butter and for some reason, it doesnt taste right to me. Its not terrible but just not good. Very strange.

Have you started to show yet: A little bit more. I can really tell but everyone else tells me they can't just yet.

Gender: Not sure yet and I don’t really have a clue. Most of the family thinks it’s a girl but I think that’s just because they want me to have one. The only person who thinks its a boy is my Dad. Unfortunately he was incorrect with my sister as well. Love ya Dad!

Labor signs: None

Belly button in or out: In but I can see in it much better. haha

Wedding rings on or off: On

Mood: Great! ok well I'm up and down.

Looking forward to: Feeling the baby move and just enjoying the holidays with family.

Other: I just ordered the Bar Method Pregnancy vdeo and a book called the Baby Whisperer. I'm really excited about both! I know I need to take advantage of my time before baby.

Week 14

Here I am at week 14. I'm going to try and take a picture each week in the same shirt so that you can get the full effect of my growing belly. I'm taking my picture early in the morning before I eat :)

I go to the doctor next week and I'm so excited! We will get to hear the heartbeat finally. It feels so long since my last appointment and besides feeling bloated I don’t really feel pregnant especially now that my morning sickness has passed. Not that I'm complaining....

So I sort of stole the list of questions below from my friends baby blog. I think its really great so I'm going to try and fill this out each week too. (Thanks Abby! :)

How far along: 14 weeks

Baby Size: Baby Riva is the Size of a lemon!

Names: Unsure as of yet. We have a few we are considering but nothing stands out as a for sure.

Total weight gain/loss: 1-2 lbs. I will know for sure next Friday.

Maternity clothes: Not yet but I got a great pair of jeans and an adorable dress on ASOS maternity that I'm looking forward to wearing.

Stretch marks: Nope. Just using lots of cocoa butter every night

Sleep: So far so good. Still sleeping on my stomach too. I also went ahead and got the Snoogle body pillow. I'm sure I will be using it quite a bit soon. As of right now, my dog Coby tries to steal it from me.

Best moment this week: I'm actually starting to get some energy back. I went to the gym and ran for the first time in what felt like forever.

Miss Anything: Nothing yet. We are big wine drinkers and I thought I might miss it but honestly I can hardly stand the smell of it.

Movement: None yet

Food cravings: When I was dealing with morning sickness, for some reason I wanted bread, French fries and occasionally mini chocolate donuts. I have no clue how but I lost weight up until this week. Now I can't stand the thought of any of that food. I finally want fruit and veggies again (for now..) Yay!

Anything making you queasy or sick: The smell of French fries, red wine or beer (Andy isn't allowed to drink around me), fish and Andy until he puts on deodorant. Sorry babe.

Have you started to show yet: Just barely. My jeans still fit pretty well.

Gender: Not sure yet and I don’t really have a clue. Most of the family thinks it’s a girl but I think that’s just because they want me to have one.

Labor signs: None

Belly button in or out: In but I can see in it much better. haha

Wedding rings on or off: On

Mood: Great! ok well I'm up and down.

Looking forward to: Feeling the baby move and just enjoying the holidays with family.

Other: So far we havent really bought anything for the baby yet except for a jogging stroller. We got it on Black Friday. I will post a pic of it later. I'm so excited about it!
